Aleksandra Djurdjevic Wins McCallion Quest Poster ContestIn October, to promote the online magazine, the Quest’s marketing department came up with the idea of holding a poster contest. The idea of the contest was to have children visit the old site address, see what the Quest was all about and then, armed with all the information, to create a poster that would arouse interest in the site. The contest took place over a number of weeks and the involvement of students was outstanding. Many of our kids attended the meetings and most went through with the design. The Marketing department had a difficult time selecting the poster that best ‘showed’ what the magazine stood for. In fact, in the last weeks of November, curious contest participants, anxious to hear the final decision on the winner, hounded the marketing staff. However, one did catch their eye. A poster designed by Grade 6 student Aleksandra Djurdjevic was the winner of the first McCallion Quest contest of the year. Congratulations to Aleksandra who won a $15 gift certificate from Best Buy for her efforts. Pictured above is Aleksandra (left) with Nahla Al Sarraj of the Quest’s marketing department giving her the prize. Stay tuned for future contests. More gift certificates will be available.
