Flux
A Book Review

By: Courtney Bergart

In this stunningly poetic fantasy novel, Beth Goobie creates an entirely new world, which seems different at first sight, but is really nothing more than the tale of a lonely girl. In an unusual or possibly futuristic world, Nellie and her mother flee the Interior and the highly feared Interior Police, where life is strictly regulated.

Living in the less urbanized ‘Outbacks’ after her mother mysteriously disappears, Nellie is left on her own to fend for herself. Barely surviving off her skill to vibrate at different molecular frequencies, following paths of ‘flux’, she begins to understand the meaning of her gift, unlocking the secrets to her clouded memories of childhood ‘experiments’.

Even though this parallel world is confusing to understand at first, the story unfolds so perfectly you can’t help but enjoy reading it. I would recommend this original novel to anyone that likes a good read!
