Coming Soon..."Black Parade"... My Chemical Romance's New Album Hits the Stores at the end of October By: Haya Shahib My Chemical Romance, an alternative rock band from New Jersey, is soon to be releasing their fourth album entitled ‘The Black Parade’, featuring their new song,‘Welcome to the Black Parade’. On April 10th , 2006 the band started recording their album with Reprise Records and it is scheduled to be released on October 23, 2006 nationally and October 24, 2006 in the U.S. The album is to contain the following tracks: The End, Dead!, This is How I disappear, The Sharpest Lives, Welcome to the Black Parade, I Don’t Love You, House of Wolves, Cancer, Mama, Sleep, Teenager, Disenchanted, and Famous Last Words. My Chemical Romance has been greatly influenced by many bands in the past from the Misfits to Morrissey/The Smiths. But for this album, three records that had the biggest influence on them were: Queen’s “A Night at the Opera”, the Beatles “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and Pink Floyd’s, “The Wall”. The band has really committed to this album and has gone as far to even changing the way they look to correspond with it. Lead vocalist Gerard Way turned his once shoulder length, ink black hair, into short and bleach blonde in order to resemble the main character for this album known only as “the patient”. The patient supposedly has cancer and goes through chemotherapy, hence the short blonde hair. The album describes this man, the patient’s life and retells how, when he was younger, his father took him to a parade and so, when death comes for him; it comes in the form of the Black Parade. Anyone interested in seeing the video or hearing the song can now do so by going to the official website, www.theblackparade.com.
