Quest
Computer games. They’re fun, they’re cool, and they’re addictive. Very addictive. There’s this one very addictive computer game in particular: Ever Quest. This is a warning to everyone. Ever Quest is a very terrible and horrible game. It might sound fun and cool, but it can ruin the life of any innocent being.
First, there was this one man. He had a decent job, and a pretty good life in general. That was, before he found Ever Quest. A while after he started playing it, he quit is job, he stopped doing certain things, and, eventually, it all lead to him committing suicide. All because of this game. This awful game. You see, there was this one character in his game of Ever Quest, that he called “I love you”. In the game, “I love you” died. This man was so convinced this game was his life, his reality, that once his “love” died, he had to die as well.
Then there was the story of the cardiologist. You know, a heart doctor with a really high salary? Well, he was another one of the very many Ever Quest victims. At least he hasn’t killed himself, well, not yet, but his wife is certainly getting very worried about him. Apparently, he gets home every day after work and sits right down at his computer to play. What’s going to happen to him? No one knows, but we’re talking about a really addictive and convincing game.
Then there’s the last, and the worst story. You know the Snipers that were going around Washington? The ones that were just recently caught? Well, there was another Sniper in the 1980’s, and believe it or not, it is understood that he became the terrible Sniper that he was because of a computer game similiar to Ever Quest. Apparently, he played the game, and he too became so convinced that it was his life and reality, that he began going around killing people. It is not known how it caused him to do those dreadful things, but it did. Despite the fact that we may think we know the difference between real life and fantasy, Ever Quest is there to prove to us that this line between the worlds is somewhat fuzzy. A silly computer game, controlling the thoughts, minds and lives of people to such a great extent?
No one knows why or how, but somehow, for some reason, this Ever Quest game and many others like it, are causing people to do shockingly disastrous things. They are capable of totally ruling over human beings. (I’m sure it would be the same for all other living creatures, if they used computers, and played computer games, which I don’t think they do, or do they?) Anyways, a word of warning, DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING THIS GAME, PLEASE! Just forget about it, totally and completely forget about it, and never think about it again. In fact, maybe you should forget what this article was all about.
